Syngenta Program for Accelerated caReer and Knowledge (SPARK)/MT Batch 2 2024

Syngenta Indonesia is organizing Management Trainee (MT) Program, an accelerated professional initiative, by recruiting the best and outstanding graduates to join us in different functions. As an MT,you will participate in a 18-month comprehensive 18- month program to develop the best talents with growth mindset to become future leaders in Syngenta Indonesia.

This program consists of 2 (two) stages:

  • You will be placed in various functions and locations in Syngenta Indonesia for 3 months, and
  • You will be rotated to several different roles within specific functions you are assigned to over the course of 15 months, including the project completion.

1. Management Trainee Business Sustainability

To contribute to the sustainable development of Syngenta Indonesia’s business and operation by driving initiatives aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. As a Management Trainee, the objective is to learn, implement, and enhance sustainability practices, ensuring the company’s commitment to responsible and ethical agricultural practices.

Job Description :

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies for farming and agriculture operations.
  • Integrate sustainability goals into daily practices, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Lead efforts to embed ESG considerations into decision-making processes across the organization.
  • Monitor and report on ESG performance, identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret sustainability data, producing regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize data insights to recommend and implement improvements in sustainability metrics.
  • Build relationships with farmers, suppliers, and local communities to promote sustainable practices and address concerns collaboratively.
  • Communicate the company’s sustainability initiatives effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about evolving environmental regulations and ensure the company’s adherence to local, national, and international standards.

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in sustainability, agriculture, crop protection or related fields is preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in data collection and report writing.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in story telling for campaign narratives.
  • Knowledge of the simple graphics design and familiar with the development of communication assets such as video and infographics.

2. Management Trainee Supply

Job Description :

  • Drive improvements in various facets of the supply chain process
  • Focus on enhancing inventory management, customer excellence, logistics efficiency, and HSE
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-effective solutions
  • Actively contribute to initiatives aimed at optimizing supply chain operations
  • Analyze data to identify areas for cost competitiveness and process enhancements
  • Receive comprehensive training with a focus on driving improvements and digitalization in supply chain management.

3. Management Trainee Marketing

Job Description :

  • Support Brand Manager to manage the existing brands and prepare for new product introductions
  • Support Brand Manager to create and implement brand strategies, developing value proposition and creative key visual and brand story
  • Support to introduce new technology to growers, aligned to functional and emotional grower needs, and further strengthen the leadership position of Syngenta in the Indonesia agriculture market

Accountabilities :

  • Support Brand Manager to Create brand plans, campaign strategies and achieve growth ambitions
  • Manage end to end cross-functional activities and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of brand objectives.
  • Support brand manager Introduce new technology and innovation to the portfolio and launch to the targeted growers segment.
  • Support brand manager to develop A&P plans and co-ordinate implementation with the Campaign Team and creative agencies.
  • Support to create pricing analysis, pricing strategy and channel strategy, aligned with overall marketing objectives for each brand.
  • Conduct Focus Group Discussion with customer to understand customer satisfaction on certain brands and strengthen Syngenta branding position.
  • Analysis market data/ competitive situation and support decision based on fact and data.

4. Management Trainee Finance

Responsible for all production and supply related matters for the Crop Protection (CP) division, covering end to end supply chain activities.
Key accountabilities cover :

  • Working with FO to prepare management reporting related to key P&S financial performance/ metrics. Proactively provide commentaries on key drivers behind key cogs variances (e.g. manufacturing fixed costs, production & distribution variances, capacity utilization and inventory analysis)
  • Perform in-depth analysis of cost drivers and drive resource and cost optimization activities.
  • Working with CP Finance lead to perform product cost analysis & annual standard cost setting activities
  • Collaborate with CP Finance lead and Site to provide decision support analysis for growth investments and capex submission for approval
  • Working with CP Finance Lead to drive key planning processes for the country (i.e. Budgeting, Latest Outlook/Estimates, Sales & Operations Planning)
  • Drive the country financial compliance agenda related to P&S, ensuring adherence to both internal & external financial policies and regulations

Requirements :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline with max. 2 years working experience
  • Leadership experiences through being part of organizations and managing events
  • Excellent skills in English, communications, presentation, data statistics, analytics, MS Office and digital platforms
  • Attention to details. Strong analytical competence, self-motivated and results driven. Good experience in standard costing and cogs variance analysis required.
  • Advanced Excel and excellent computer skills in reporting
  • Good communicator and team player, in working across different levels of management and across functions
